Physical Therapy before or after your Pilates workout, featuring Pilates exercises on the Pilates reformer and more!

We are so very proud to have fabulous Physical Therapists and Manual Therapists on site to help guide your Pilates workout in the best direction for you, working with your Pilates instructor to choose the best Pilates exercises on equipment such as the Pilates reformer specific to your unique needs. Even if you’ve worked on the Pilates Reformer in the past, you may have no idea how effective it is as a means of post-rehabilitation, and yet that is the reason Joseph Pilates originally created his Pilates Reformer. Pilates exercises for the shoulder, hip, knee, ankle and foot abound, and you will always be working on strength and flexibility simultaneously, never sacrificing one for the other. Our PT’s work closely with our Pilates instructors so that you not only get a great Pilates workout, but you get all the amazing benefits of the Pilates exercises on this amazing Pilates machine. Our PT’s love what they do and are dedicated to working with you through your injury and seeing you to a full recovery. And because they are always on site, our PT’s work closely with our instructors, choosing the Pilates exercises for your post-rehab Pilates workout and guiding your progress every step of the way. With a studio full of Pilates equipment such as the Pilates reformer, Pilates chair and Pilates Cadillac, the Pilates on Fifth PT/Instructor team has an amazing array of options of the best Pilates exercises to create a total body, fully-integrated Pilates workout to both challenge your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses.

Pilates for Post-Rehabilitation on a Pilates machine such as the Pilates chair, for the Pilates beginner to the advanced practitioner

A Pilates beginner can use Pilates for post-rehabilitation while learning exercises on each Pilates machine, like the Pilates Reformer and the Pilates chair. While the Pilates exercises may seem somewhat simple initially, the wisdom of Pilates comes in its subtlety. A Pilates beginner can do exercises on the Pilates chair or another Pilates machine that may seem very simple and not at all demanding, and yet the results are spectacular. Being injured is a real catch-22. When people are injured, they usually fall quickly out of shape. When their injuries have healed up and they're ready to get back into shape, however, many find that exercise exacerbates their injuries. However, lack of exercise and muscle tone increases their chances of being injured again, and even lengthens the amount of time it takes to heal. If you have an injury, you may feel like you don't have a lot of options. It's frustrating, to say the least. However, each and every Pilates machine at Pilates on Fifth was designed with Physical Therapy in mind. With our Physical Therapist and Pilates for Post-Rehabilitation program at Pilates on Fifth, whether you are a Pilates beginner or an advanced practitioner, we can create a Pilates workout regime for you on the Pilates chair, the Pilates reformer, and any of our other Pilates machines at our studio.

Types of Massage
  • Perfect Relaxation
The full-body massage you have been looking for! Both deeply relaxing and effectively therapeutic, this is the hallmark of the Center. Whether you desire light and soothing, deep and specific or anywhere in-between, your highly skilled therapist will draw from a wide repertoire of experience to cater to your needs. We recommend an hour and a quarter or an hour and a half for first-time clients for Perfect Relaxation.
  • Reflexology
Enjoy much needed attention to your feet, your hands, or both, while reflexology points are massaged to benefit your entire system.
  • Pregnancy Massage (Pre-natal Massage)
Lie down (on your side) and relax!   True relief for a deserving mother-to-be.
A Way to Wellness

Therapies to address specific conditions or areas of concern. Performed by certified massage therapists & customized to your individual needs. 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.
  • For Athletes
You know your muscles want this! Give the specific muscles of your sport the attention they need to perform well and happily!
  • Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)
An advanced system of massage therapy, for those who need thorough and specific relief, or seek improved posture and neuromuscular health. NMT is most effectively done in a series, but even one session can be extremely educational and beneficial.

NMT combined with a full body massage
  • Myofascial Release
For those who need relief, but prefer a light-touch method. This technique very gently frees connective tissue restrictions for pain relief and postural balancing.
