Kanyon Faulkner
Kanyon began her Pilates education to supplement her classical ballet training in an effort to prevent injury and to strengthen muscles around flexible and vulnerable joints. Through this work she fell in love with the details and technique of Pilates and the way it can benefit everyone no matter what age or condition they may be. After being amazed with how Pilates helped her dance technique and general strength, Kanyon wanted to help pass on the same beneficial knowledge to others. Kanyon began her training in the classical method, then transitioned to Stott Pilates, and then completing all equipment certification (for all levels) through the Pilates Academy International at the Pilates Center of New York. Kanyon's love of the detail and complexity of the body allows her to see each person and their unique habits clearly, and how to gradually bring that body to a more strong and balanced state. Her experience through dance helps her see the tiny adjustments that will allow exercises to reach their full potential. When she's not teaching Kanyon continues to pursue a career in professional dance, and truly enjoys reading, writing, and occasionally dabbling in fashion design and illustration.
